Webster’s Dictionary says the reel comes from ragla which means to stagger, incline, or move in walking first to one side then to the other. Another source gives its origin as the Anglo-Saxon rulla meaning to whirl.

It’s hard to wait. Especially when you’re between the ages of four and seven. Rinceoiri Don Spraoi Shamrocks, Grace, Mari, and Audrey, found out just how hard waiting can be as they waited hours for their turn to begin filming…

I came to see that movement is one of the great laws of life.
It is the primary medium of our aliveness,
the flow of energy going on in us like a river all the time,
awake or asleep, twenty-four hours a day.
Our movement is our behavior;
there is a direct connection between what we are like
and how we move…As people begin to move in their own way,
they are faced with feelings of surprise and delight
and often of anxiety and embarrassment.
Judgments, corrections and explanations are of no use.
It is their movement, and it happened just that way.

In case you haven’t heard, the Honors program at Utah State University has put together a new elective starting Fall 2011. It’s an Irish dance class, and guess what? Hannah Thompson will be teaching!
PE 1700 - 003
Class time: 12:30-1:20 M/F (1 credit)
Hannah started dancing with Rinceoiri when she was eight and is taking a break (after what 12 years?) to go to college. We miss her like crazy and are really excited about this fun opportunity for her!
If you’re going to USU and want to continue dancing, take her Irish dance class! She’s a great teacher!
May you always have work for your hands to do.
May your pockets hold always a coin or two.
May the sun shine bright on your windowpane.
May the rainbow be certain to follow each rain.
May the hand of a friend always be near you.
And may God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you.

Seriously cute cake by Debbie Does Cakes. This would be fun for St. Patrick’s Day or a ceili. I wonder if she could do our knot?
